ZR 2.0

To build a GT ZR frame into a sub-20lb bike isn't hard and has been achieved here with a good mix of mid-range components, finished with a decent wheelset. The frame is stiff in most places except around the bottom bracket shell under sprinting, probably due to the very ovalised and cut out chainstays, but this doesn't detract from what is an awesomely balanced frame built into an amazing all round race bike. It climbs brilliantly with the ksyriums and the frame flex works well to help a smooth rounded motion; it descends very well if a little light at the front; but the bike's forte lies in twisty fast roads - the best and most exciting riding, inches away from other riders, carving through the turns on a bike that you can track through a penny on the apex at 30 mph. This isn't the most comfortable bike to ride over longer distances but anything up to 80 miles is pure fun!
